Hospital Care
Our hospital affiliation is with the Framingham Union Campus of MetroWest
Medical Center. If your child is hospitalized at
MetroWest, we will be directly involved with and responsible for his or her
care, and will see him or her daily. In addition, residents, interns, and possibly
medical students will help us take care of your child. We feel that this is
an important benefit of our hospital, as it provides twenty-four hour coverage in
the hospital by trained pediatricians.
The Framingham Union Campus of MetroWest Medical Center also has a Level
II Special Care Nursery equipped to take care of most anticipated and unexpected
problems that might occur with a newborn infant. A neonatologist from Childrens Hospital Boston directs the Special Care Nursery and is the physician directly responsible for the care of most babies in that nursery. The nurses are specially trained
to care for sick babies, and the nursery has special equipment to help them do so.
The Framingham Union Campus Emergency Room has a special arrangement
with Children's Hospital that provides a staff-level pediatician from
Children's trained in pediatric emergency medicine to staff our Emergency Room daily from
noon until midnight. For this reason, we encourage you to use the Framingham ER
whenever possible for emergency care.
